 Celebration of the Arts month events:

MIW – K, 1, 2 to attend Chinese Acrobats/Portland Ovations event
 PTO grant

MIW – all grades to see a performance by The Ukulele Man  Foundation 51 grant

NYMS – grades 4 & 5  Hip Hop dance class  
Funded by Arts Alliance

Art & Literacy Program
Preparation

• Determine master schedule
• contact Jen Doane/Art Club to paint murals
• Establish schedule of presentation times with teachers at MIW and Sally Somes at NYMS
• Arts Alliance Members each pick a week to manage
• Recruit volunteers for each classroom, provide scripts, confirm presentation time with each volunteer
• Purchase supplies for all grade level art projects, prepare materials, deliver to MIW office & NYMS library

 Family Arts Night

Solicit raffle items/ April will coordinate (funds raised are given as scholarships to 2 GHS seniors at graduation)

 Send invitation to past performers/participants -
esp. from within the district & COMMUNITY

• All AA members contact “their” allied arts teachers
• color guard – Carrie Hedman
• GHS chorus &/or Jazz Band
• GMS student band
• GHS – Audrey Northway – drama kids
• Irish Step Dancers
• 3-4 ART PROJECT LEADERS
• 317 musicians (put up a flyer at 317Main/contact Louisa)

Upcoming Feb events

Feb 17 – GMS “winter celebration” – invited to do a craft

FEB 10 PTO meeting 9-11am – Bob Hasson to speak

FEB 6, 7 pm School Board Meeting – encouraged attendance

NYMS artwork to Atlantic Regional Credit Union,

Contact PML to display art in March

 March Meeting – Note meeting date change to March 1^st

Hang student art shows and prep artwork – at MIW and GHS

Collect artwork from all grades for calendar

Assist with PML Summer Reading Event
